Ms. Melendez is so excited to return for her sixth year at Equitas, and her fifth at EQ2! 

Born in the suburbs of Chicago, Ms. Melendez has now lived in Los Angeles for over 12 years and currently resides in South Los Angeles with her husband, four pets, and soon will be joined by a son! She attended Occidental College for undergrad, then completed one year in Americorps with City Year, and then received her MA of Education at LMU. She loves reading with scholars, and having her classroom be a place where you can hear excited chatter and lots of questions. There is no such thing as a bad question. When she is not teaching, Ms. Melendez loves to explore new neighborhoods, go to coffee shops and cafés, and catch up on all of her binge-worthy television.
