Mr. Valdivia returns for his second year at Equitas and is the 7th grade Math teacher and Grade Level Lead. While studying Ethnic Studies and Communication at UC San Diego, he quickly learned how he can become an agent of change and work to fight against the school-to-prison pipeline as a Latino educator. He then moved to New York City hoping to broaden his perspective and impact, and  began his teaching career as a New York Teaching Fellow, serving underserved populations in the South Bronx of New York City. He now seeks to impact local communities in Southern California where he was born and raised. Mr Valdivia believes that all students can and should be agents of change to fight against systems of oppression. Beyond his teaching duties, Mr Valdivia enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, traveling, and laughing as much as possible.
