Mr. Kim joined Equitas Academy #2 in May of 2022 and closed out the academic year teaching 7th grade science. He is ecstatic to be able to start the 2022-2023 school year from the beginning, teaching 5th grade scholars science and how to be the best scholars they can be. Mr. Kim firmly believes in voice and choice for all scholars and allows scholars to make choices and adjust to the results of choices made. His belief has been grown by teaching for 7 years, and working in education for 12 years. He received his Teaching Credential at Cal State Los Angeles, a local state school which is a great opportunity for those in the neighborhood. Mr. Kim went to Santa Monica College coming out of high school and transferred to University of California San DIego to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts in History with a concentration in European History. The schools he went to and the families he worked with, has given Mr. Kim a positive outlook on the possibilities of education for scholars and their families. He is ready for the school year, and always open to developing as an educator.
