Mr. Carvente is excited to have been given the opportunity to work at Equitas Academy as an After School Program Leader. He believes that all children should be given the opportunity to succeed in life and Equitas Academy does that for the scholars they serve through a holistic approach. The Equitas mission to provide a high-quality education, and challenging school experience that prepares students to graduate from four-year colleges, ties closely to his own beliefs. Mr. Carvente hopes to one day be able to develop, and implement, arts programs for under-served youth that challenge them to think creatively, and critically about the world around them. At Humboldt State University, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Art History- with an emphasis in Museum Studies. During his time in Humboldt, Mr. Carvente interned at a couple of art galleries, helping to put on various art shows, and also conducted preliminary research for museum art exhibitions. He is hoping to use the knowledge and skills he has gained through those experiences to create an interest in the arts, in the scholars that he serves. Mr. Carvente is currently pursuing a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art and hopes to eventually get his Masters in Arts Administration. His hobbies include photography, running, cycling, swimming, and eating burgers.
