Ms. Cornish is excited to begin her second year of teaching with Equitas Academy. She is from San Fernando, CA and moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Pepperdine University in May 2021. During her time at Pepperdine, she had the opportunity to study abroad in rural Fiji, studying Culturally Responsive Service Learning and teaching fourth grade at a local primary school. Here, she learned the importance of pairing student learning with culture and community. She believes that every student has a story and is deserving of an education that challenges them to keep growing. Some of Ms. Cornish's favorite things include the color yellow, R&B, houseplants, laughter, apple juice, and new curiosities. Outside of school, you can find her creating something new, vibing at a concert, or cracking jokes with anyone who will laugh with her.
