Mrs. Johnson joined Equitas Academy #2 having worked for over 15 years as a classroom teacher in southern California and the Bay Area. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA and her teaching credentials and masters  in Education from Cal State Los Angeles. Mrs. Johnson became an education specialist supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities after several years working as a literacy specialist in LAUSD and as a center coordinator with the non-profit, Reading Partners. Mrs. Johnson is an advocate for all learners but especially students labeled disadvantaged and underachieving. Her belief is that the only labels and constraints that matter are the ones we place on ourselves. With positivity and guidance, young people are capable of accomplishing amazing things.
